He makes his way down the hall, spotting a man on a ladder.

The man is portly, with a thick white beard and silver hair.

Miss Kitty approaches Jerry's door and tries to handle it, but it's locked.

Usually he leaves last, should still be around.

Excuse me, sir?

Yes?

Yeah, um...

Did you see Jerry leave his office?

Oh, the portly young fellow?

Yeah, with a... never mind, yeah, portly.

Nope, haven't seen him.

Any chance you know where I can scan some papers?

Nope, I don't.

Alright then.

He hesitates, the man's presence both strange and intriguing, as if he's watching Miss Kitty with unseen eyes.

Hm.

Sorry, were these doors always here?

Yep.

He peers closer, seeing a room beyond the glass doors, but what's that?

A shadow.

It's moving.

Miss Kitty squints, trying to make out the figure.

The shadow shifts again and again until it disappears, but suddenly from behind a wall beyond the glass, a hand emerges.

Too low for an average person.

Then with the hand, something with glowing eyes picks out a saws and gnome.

What. The. Buck.

Miss Kitty can't tear his eyes away, but disbelief grips him as he steps back.
