It's been a long time since we had a house of dinner like this.

It's nice.

Not a lot, except, I guess, I've been taking self-defense classes.

You have? When did you start doing that?

A few weeks ago, maybe.

I've only been to a few classes so far.

What made you decide to do that?

I have an inkling I know at least part of the reason.

I'm sure it's easy because you like it now.

Just something that will challenge you and you'll grow up to appreciate what brings.

Ruby may roll her eyes on that, but I feel like it may have been directed more at me than her this time.

How about you, landlady? You haven't been around as much in the last little while.

Oh, not exciting. Just work, mostly.

Helping manage a fashion company can be a lot more hectic than you might think.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much.

I'm going to try to work at home more often, so the next while, to help you get more settled.
