Oh, hello there. Just enjoying my breakfast, having some tea.

Thought I'd share with you some crazy drama that happened right outside this window that I'm sitting by.

So,

here's the drama. Oh, by the way, I am a Ginger Pear Tart. I am the naked ornithologist.

I'm also the naked naturalist. So I'm here to teach you a little bit about nature. So there's a couple of house finches

that have been building a nest in the rafters right outside my patio.

And this happened last year, too. It's a popular spot for them to build a nest.

So there's been a male and a female pair. They've been

just working on this nest. They've been bringing twigs to it.

They've been calling out their, you know, claiming their territory, all of that.

Like this is their nests where they're gonna raise their ****.

So a few days ago, I see, I look out and I see like on the railing,

the female lands and then a male comes up behind her, lands on her.

They start mating really hard, which like for birds, it's only a second.

But they were like going at it for like three or four seconds, which is really long for a bird.

They were both really into it. I was like, "Oh, how cute!"

Because what they do is the male kind of goes on top of the female.

And she was like sticking her butt out into it. You could tell she was into it.
