There is barely a work of literature that has been as misconstrued as the Kama Sutra.
The first translated edition was published in Europe in 1884.
And though the translator, even back then, omitted the really controversial bits,
namely the passages pertaining to homosexuality,
it wasn't long before it was misinterpreted and denounced as a bawdy compendium of sexual practices.
And even today, more than a century later, it has a similar reputation.
For most people, the Kama Sutra is simply an amalgamation of sexual positions.
And that's a shame, because in reality, it is so much more.
One could summarize it as a sexual ethical work of literature about love, life, eroticism and partnership.
Oral intercourse is a beautiful and attentive intro to lovemaking,
a stimulating, sensual prelude on the way to copulation.
Whilst women are often too hesitant in attending to the penis,
experience teaches us that the man is often too vigorous in handling the woman's pleasure centre.
It is therefore entirely helpful and supportive
when lovers find the courage to communicate their needs to one another.
The man should shave himself beforehand, and his pubic hair should be trimmed.
This also applies to the woman.
