that want part of it.

And once things get rolling and underway,

perhaps the actual issues will take center stage,

because they are big issues.

And this is a summit that does not happen annually.

It's every few years.

And so these are issues that have been waiting for a moment

to get their time.

And it was planned, and the US became host long

before we knew there was going to be a war in Ukraine,

and long before we knew COVID was

going to have this life on so many parts of the world

that it has had.

And so the Biden administration feels strongly

that it should have a big agenda for its own extended

neighborhood.

So from Canada all through South America,

there will be a lot of important issues to discuss.

But as the president just arrived,

the buildup was a lot about who's in and who's not in,

and what those signals said.
